Responsible for maintaining a high-level of availability, reliance and consistency within each of Holiday Inn Club Vacation’s resort and corporate PBX systems. Ensure best practices and procedures in telecommunications are in place for converged voice and data systems, digital telephone systems, automatic call distribution systems, auto-attendant systems, unified communications, voice recognition, PMS and other peripheral technologies. Will be responsible for carrier management as well as PBX site vendors across all resorts and call centers. This position will work closely with other IT team members, including help desk, network and application staff to prioritize and resolve trouble calls and to escalate unresolved problems to the next tier level of support. Individual will be responsible and have full authority for all telecommunication systems and associated equipment at all times. Responsibility includes oversight of all OSP and ISP low-voltage systems. In addition, the individual will work with Shared Services managers in the support and management of all resort technologies which include property management system (PMS) interfaces, guest WiFi networks, cable TV systems, video cameras and sound systems.


  • Responsible for the proper configuration and maintenance of all resort and call center telecommunications systems.
  • Engineer, supervise and/or repair cable plant systems including twisted-pair, fiber-optic and coaxial cables.
  • Design, implement and support networked PBX systems between participating resorts for the enhancement or centralized operator duties.
  • Assist telecom billing analysts in the research of reconciliation of monthly invoices for all resort, corporate and call center locations.
  • Recommend upgrades, enhancements and implementation of new communications technology. Work closely with the Shared Services project teams on implementation.
  • Assist Shared Services managers where needed in the support of property management system (PMS) interfaces, guest WiFi networks, cable TV, video cameras and sound systems.




Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field strongly preferred
  • Certification in Mitel PBX or other PBX systems is required.
  • ANSI/BICSI certification a plus.
  • CCNA certification is a plus.
  • Ten (10) plus years experience in the design and management of communications systems for hospitality operations.
  • Ten (10) plus years experience in the design and management of low-voltage wiring systems including CAT3, 5e and 6; RG-6 and RG-50, single and multi-mode fiber-optics.
  • Working experience of multiple PBX platforms and voicemail technologies.
  • Knowledge of T1 (primary rate interface) configurations and applications.
  • Knowledge of dialed number identification services (DNIS) and their application.
  • Knowledge of SIP trunking and voice-over-IP (VOIP) protocols.
  • Four to six years of field support experience with at least one year of telecommunications installation experience is required.
