POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will be a senior member of the Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO). The Sr. Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing and reporting on all programs/projects within a corporate portfolio of strategic initiatives. The Portfolio Manager will work collaboratively with the Executive IT Steering Committee and all project leads that support each respective business discipline in a decentralized PMO environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

Portfolio, Program, and Project Management

 

  • Routinely work with the Executive IT Steering Committee and Portfolio Advisory Committee to continuously define and prioritize the portfolio of Corporate IT projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide governance and support to create consistency and efficiency in the alignment and execution of project initiatives within the organization.
  • Lead and assist in the development of roadmaps and strategy based presentations.
  • Ensure all programs/projects within the portfolio are executed in a transparent and productive way, applying standard program and portfolio management practices.
  • Provide high-level management, oversight and tracking of all program deliverables and milestones at the portfolio level
  • Lead steering committee meetings with a broad cross-functional team to communicate the status of various projects/programs, discuss issues/risks, and understand the impact of any changes to business requirements.
  • Ability to manage and influence independently across the business and generate work product from others not in direct reporting structure; including project leads within the business units.
  • Ensure programs/projects are delivered on-time.
  • Independently partner with respective leaders and teams in order to learn the lines of business.  This is expected not only to accommodate facilitation from a portfolio management perspective, but also to provide value by recommending/developing meaningful solutions, practices or alignment of initiatives, dialog and strategy within the organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of any contracted staff required on a project by project basis as needed.
  • Provide cross functional leadership to Project Leads within the business to support the corporate execution of any program, project or process improvement within the Corporate IT Portfolio.

 

Job Requirements



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • 7-10 years of portfolio management experience, Timeshare industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • PMP, PgMP or PfMP required.
  • Must have experience managing the development and execution of a corporate portfolio at the Enterprise level.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional growth in program/project management.

 



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in MS Office Products, including Powerpoint, Visio and Excel at an intermediate or advanced level.
  • Proficient in Project Management software, Smartsheet or Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, be detail-orientated and have the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral) at all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
  • Must be able to establish productive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, handle multiple projects simultaneously with excellent problem solving skills and judgement pertaining to risk identification and mitigation.
  • Experience in leading project managers, developing effective relationships and influencing others at various levels of the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of work will be performed in a climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperature on occasion.
