POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To prepare and develop tomorrow’s leaders, the Resort Industry Student Experience (RISE) internship program provides the structure and resources to harness, teach, and grow talented students into successful career professionals through an immersive, holistic, and dynamic learning experience in the hospitality industry.

All internships will consist of hands on work, observations, special projects, leadership development, training, feedback and evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to form connections with both their peers and industry leaders who are in roles in both their own department and others.

The Revenue management internship is a 3 month long experience which will support the Revenue Management team’s daily revenue checklists.  The role will also incorporate the completion of necessary daily, weekly and monthly reports required for distribution to the organization to maximize occupancy and profits associated with eligible rental inventory at all assigned properties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:  

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining daily & weekly reports for Revenue Team, such as revenue pick-up report, pace report, reservations grid, marketing report, etc.
  • Manage the upload and monitoring of available rental inventory via the Virtual Hotel to IHG’s system and update/monitor length of stay restrictions in order to maximize the use of inventory and generate revenues
  • Responsible for the creation and monitoring of special program offerings for club members, such as MaxTime, to generate club bookings and increase utilization
  • Responsible for supporting the Revenue Team with special project(s), properties audits, balancing, special reservations request, inventory transfers, etc. 
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and networking events with the Academy of Learning and Development–approximately once per week. This includes a team project to be presented to leadership at the conclusion of the internship

 

Job Requirements

  • Student pursuing a degree in hospitality, revenue management, or related field.
  •  
    Enrolled in college/university courses or have graduated within 6 months of the start of the internship.
  •  
    Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in current good standing with the college/university.
  •  
    Must not be first two semesters taking college coursework.
  •  
    Must be able to secure housing in the location of the internship for the duration of the internship.
  • Must be able to pass and complete a background check and pre-employment screening.
  •  
    Must be able to complete entire program without interruptions.

 Essential Functions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel is preferred.
  • Must be self-sufficient and a self-starter.
  • Must be detail oriented with high level of accuracy.
  • Should possess strong analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and balance priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of yield management is preferred.
  • Ability to work closely within a team environment and/or as an individual with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to be trained in and use a variety of computer software applications. TimeshareWare & IHG experience is a plus.

To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in a college/university in the United States and possess unrestricted US work authorization.
