POSITION OVERVIEW:
To prepare and develop tomorrow’s leaders, the Resort Industry Student Experience (RISE) internship program provides the structure and resources to harness, teach, and grow talented students into successful career professionals through an immersive, holistic, and dynamic learning experience in the hospitality industry.

All internships will consist of hands on work, observations, special projects, leadership development, training, feedback and evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to form connections with both their peers and industry leaders who are in roles in both their own department and others within the company.

The Policies and Procedures internship will be a 12 week long experience which will be a vital part to our compliance department as they will work alongside Capital Management (CM) leadership team to coordinate, write, develop reporting, update and format documentation in accordance with guidelines to meet CM business needs. You will effectively communicate with CM leadership and outside business units to make ensure all policies are reviewed and approved. On an ongoing basis you will independently review the current department processes for any need in order develop and implement new processes to CM (as well as any relevant business unit). You will measure success of developed policy by creating analysis and reporting that will be presented to leadership team on an ongoing basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and networking events with the Academy of Learning and Development–approximately once per week. This includes a team project to be presented to leadership at the conclusion of the internship
  • Develop accurate and complete Process and Procedure manuals and workflow diagrams. Following style standards for Process and Procedure manuals and revise as necessary. Ensure writing style of documentation is simple, clear, concise, grammatically correct, and written for the intended audience and achieves compliance with legal requirements, regulatory mandates and performance standards.
  • Develop analysis and reporting in order to effectively communicate with senior leadership if processes are being followed and provide any reporting if applicable
  • On an ongoing basis independently review all current policies and procedures in order to determine if there is any need for updates to the process, reporting, or training.
  • Leads or participates, as assigned, in training or implementation of newly developed or revised Policies and Procedures to affected work group(s). Maintain manual source material in organized manner with revision control. Maintain historical records and files of work and revisions in a policy and procedure library

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Enrolled in college/university courses or have graduated within 6 months of the start of the internship
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in current good standing with the college/university
  • Must not be first two semesters taking college coursework
  • Must be able to secure housing in the location of the internship for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to pass and complete a background check and pre-employment screening
  • Student pursuing a degree in Technical Writing, Business, Communications or English, or; an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to complete entire program without interruptions

International Students       

To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in a college/university in the United States and possess unrestricted US work authorization. Typically, this means international students must be studying on an F-1 or J-1 visa.
