POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Housekeeping Manager provides the leadership and assists in the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, including the planning, organization, execution and accountability of all related functions, procedures, programs and policies in achieving the standards for all guest accommodations and efficient operations of the department. This individual provides direct supervision of the department inspectors and line level employees. This includes hiring, training & development, supervision, and evaluation duties associated with each of the reporting staff members. Additional responsibilities include coaching and counseling, issuance of corrective actions, on-going mentoring and process improvement, regular communication of resort news and department information. This individual will ensure the staff’s commitment to maintaining service expectations through direct observation, communication and recognition. This is a very hands-on position that entails spending the shift deployed with our housekeeping staff, personally performing inspections and providing on-going training to the staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Manage and oversee Housekeeping staff; expected to demonstrate thoughtful decisions in a high-pressured environment, while consistently modeling the company’s values and competencies for success; responsible for the actions, results, successes and failures of the team, to include service and cleanliness standards and operational processes.
  • Scheduling and monitoring of daily cleans and key assignments; inspection of units, unit buildings, offices, and common areas.
  • Support hiring, assignment, training, motivation, coaching of personnel and oversees reward and recognition programs; ensures timely verbal and written communication.
  • Follows up in person in regards to owner and guest concerns.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to include daily pre-shift meetings.

 

Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of four years of experience in the hotel/motel/timeshare/resort or related industry in a supervisory role.

  • Any hotel/motel/resort/management certifications would be a plus
