POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Facilities Manager will lead and develop a team of specialists who are responsible for the overall performance of the resort’s physical infrastructure, maintenance and repair of timeshare guest units and assets, with the primary goals of protecting and extending the life of owner assets, general grounds care, and contract management of outsourced facilities. This individual will participate in the hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision of all members of their team. Additional responsibilities include ongoing training, coaching and counseling. This manager will serve as a role model, develop talent and provide staff support in handling complex situations and insure the staff’s commitment to meeting service expectations. This manager will provide direct supervision of engineering maintenance teams to assure proper response to requests for service, planned maintenance, and preventative maintenance. This manager is responsible for the maintenance and repair of approximately one hundred timeshare condos. Success in this role is measured primarily by onsite and post-stay guest survey responses evaluating the quality of the facilities and the life and safe operation of assets.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  1. OUR PEOPLE
  • Development of PDPs, evaluation and active coaching to develop Brand-hearted maintenance technicians and grounds personnel. Demonstrate a culture of learning and mentorship for continual performance development [Individual Performance management]
  • Analyze and recommend adjustments to staffing, performance targets and resources to achieve results. Manage department engagement plans, talent review and succession planning. [Team performance & development]

    2. GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrate Brand-hearted leadership by putting the brand at the center of all business decisions. [Guest relations]
  • Daily management/execution of well-defined strategies and programs developed by others with some adaptation.
  • Manages contracts with outsourced vendors for all skills beyond common repairs and maintenance skills (handyman)
  • Address owner and guest concerns as needed. Monitor completion times and quality of services provided. Drive guest satisfaction scores for continuous improvement.

    3. RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Implement brand programs and maintenance strategies, standards, reserves planning, stewardship of maintenance budgets, and focused ways of working that result in owner value and guest satisfaction. [Asset management]
  • Accountability for compliance to energy programs. [CSR management]

    4. FINANCIAL RETURNS

  • Development of departmental budgets and allocation of resources to meet financial goals. [Budgeting, forecasting & planning]
  • Operate department successfully within budgetary guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • College degree or trade training in the engineering discipline preferred
  • Minimum of four years of experience in Resort Operations, the hotel/motel/timeshare/resort or related industry with three -five years in a supervisory role.
  • Requires 5-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area and must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a broad range of maintenance fields.
  • Minimum 3 years leading front line staff
  • Must be 21 years of age or older, have 4 years of driving experience and a valid drivers license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • High degree of judgment
  • Bilingual a plus – English/Spanish
