POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.  Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

 

1.     Evaluate requisitions and create purchase orders for products and services with most beneficial vendors. 

 

2.     Obtain vendor quotes for products and services for immediate purchase.

 

3.     Provide transactional support to business units and Purchasing System users. 

4.     Participate in the support of company Purchasing System.

Job Requirements



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or other Business Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience


QUALIFICATIONS

  • General Microsoft Office Skills
  • ERP System, Purchasing Module experience.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.  Will be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and operate office machinery.  Must be able to lift up to thirty pounds.  Specific work assignments may change without notice.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

 



WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of work will be performed in a climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperature on occasion.

 



WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS

Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays.  Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours.
