POSITION OVERVIEW:
To prepare and develop tomorrow’s leaders, the Resort Industry Student Experience (RISE) internship program provides the structure and resources to harness, teach, and grow talented students into successful career professionals through an immersive, holistic, and dynamic learning experience in the hospitality industry.

All internships will consist of hands on work, observations, special projects, leadership development, training, feedback and evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to form connections with both their peers and industry leaders who are in roles in both their own department and others within the company.

The Instructional Design Intern will support a team that crafts and develops engaging learning experiences. Production elements include: training manuals, instructional videos, AR/VR interactions, online learning courses, and instructor-led workshops. The Intern will learn instructional design methods, such as Design Thinking, to develop learning experiences that increase competence, confidence, and advocacy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Create Basic Training Content: This includes items like: manuals for technology platforms, single-page job aids, participant workbooks, and short eLearning modules.
  • Assist with Instructional Video Production: Partner with learning designers in brainstorming video segment ideas, storyboarding the plot, writing scripts, procuring props, casting, securing shot location, equipment setup, filming/audio recording, and post-production.
  • Organize and Maintain Our Digital Asset Library: Leverage our existing resources to craft a system that stores and tracks production files.                
  • Participate in our Academy Days: Join meetings, trainings, and networking events with the Academy of Learning and Development–approximately once per week. This includes a team project to be presented to leadership at the conclusion of the internship

 

Job Requirements

  • College degree in technology, psychology, or education or in the process of obtaining the degree.
  • Up to two years of experience writing and / or designing documents.
  • Basic knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Is adaptable to sudden changes in direction. scope
  • Enrolled in college/university courses within 6 months of the start of the internship
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in current good standing with the college/university
  • Must not be in first two semesters taking college coursework
  • Must be able to secure housing in the location of the internship for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to pass and complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to complete entire program without interruptions

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Advanced knowledge using Windows PC and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced writing skills using MLA and/or APA formats.
  • Ability to Multi-Task, prioritize and manage time effectively
