POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Partners with senior executive staff to align Human Resources functions with larger company goals.  Responsible for managing the day-to day Human Resources functions for the corporate business groups by providing leadership skills to guide employees and management to achieve business goals.  Acts as a champion of the company’s mission and values and a key advocate of HR Practices.  Has a strong focus on Organizational Development and core people processes to include: Employee Engagement surveys and action plans, Succession Planning, and Performance Management. Other areas of significant contribution are Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition.  Ensures all HR practices and processes are tailored to individual client’s needs and add value to our business units.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:  

1. Manages the core people processes for our corporate departments. This includes Annual Performance Management Process, Compensation practices, Succession Planning, Employee Engagement surveys and action plans.  20%


2. Spearheads leadership onboarding within corporate departments (both internal and external hires) such that they are set up for success in their role and ingrained in the company culture. Provides tailored and on-going leadership training to client groups on demand. Liaises with Organizational Development team to leverage resources where appropriate. Responsible for assessing and identifying talent for succession planning and assists in establishing individual action plans for future development. Assists with the development and implementation of ongoing management and non-management training and development programs on topics such as acceptable employment practices, policies and procedures, sexual harassment, performance management, conflict resolution, diversity / inclusion and other topics.  10%


3. Manages employee relations issues in a timely manner by conducting research, interviews, and analysis of data collected during investigative phase. Partners with resources provided prior to discussing final recommendation with business leaders. Responds to unemployment claims. Directly oversees corporate HR team and assumes direct responsibility for the engagement and professional development of these teams. Works with Corporate Marketing HR team to maximize resources and ensure the goals of the corporate HR team and larger company HR team are pursued in the most efficient and effective manner.  20%


4. Directly manages the corporate talent acquisition team to ensure top-shelf talent is harvested and retained. Creates annual hiring forecast and budgets, ensures chosen vendors are property engaged and managed to ensure forecast is achieved, oversees Talent Acquisition budget. Liaises with talent acquisition leadership in the Sales and Operations divisions to align strategies and resources. Works with HRIS teams to generate meaningful data to drive effective strategies and decisions. Liaises with Brand Services team regarding company social media strategies and management to ensure the interests of the corporate functions are met. Ensures company Talent Acquisition standards are maintained via annual audit. Partners with business leaders to create and maintain updated job descriptions. Assumes direct responsibility for engagement and professional development of the Corporate Talent Acquisition Team.  30%


5. Develops positive and collaborative partnership with senior management of client groups to provide them with customer driven HR services, products, and management advice. Leads various projects across all corporate departments. Ensures consistency in the application and enforcement of policies and procedures and the compliance with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADAAA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, etc.) and all Federal and State employment laws. Works with onsite security teams to ensure the safety and security of staff. Works with corporate benefits team regarding timely and efficient resolution of work related injury claims. Liaise with corporate facilities teams regarding any OSHA complaints, etc.  10%

Job Requirements



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly oversees the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition teams dedicated to Corporate Services
  • Includes both salaried and hourly team members

 



EDUCATION:

  • BS or BA in relevant field required.
  • MBA strongly preferred

 



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • SHRM certification strongly preferred
     


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten years of Human Resources leadership experience
  • Five years of Talent Acquisition leadership experience
  • Five years of Organizational Development or Training experience
  • Five years of Employee Relations Experience
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationship with client groups and develop coalitions of interest to drive HR business goals, ability to influence at the senior executive level
  • Ability to gain and maintain the respect of senior company leaders as well as line level employees.
