POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for monitoring incident reports for assigned resort properties, investigating and resolving escalated general liability claims, maintaining and assisting insurance carrier with the resolving of threatened litigation claims and the review and preparation, with attorney assistance, of documents and evidence for litigated claims.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Review daily incident reports submitted by resort properties.
  • Investigate and resolve general liability claims escalated by resort guests/owners.
  • Submit active claims to insurance carrier and assist assigned adjuster in investigating and resolving liability claims.
  • Maintain logs of potential claims and assist insurance carrier in investigation.
  • Assist assigned outside counsel in investigating and supplying documentation for litigated claims.
  • Maintain all applicable legal files and databases, ensuring they are up to date and organized. 

 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • College or above.
  • Administrative experience a must.
  • Prior legal assistant or paralegal experience in litigation department of law firm or in house legal team.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Superior analytic and writing skills.
  • Strong verbal communications skills.
  • Strong word processing skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including familiarity with the use of macros.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously while making continued progress on each.
