POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Configuration Management (CM) specialist is part of the IT-GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) Team.  This position will utilize IT GRC and Internal Controls related skills to support IT and/or business-related IT CM objectives. Responsible for planning, coordination, collaborating with other cross-functional team members and providing required deliverables related to any IT GRC and/or CM related activities. Supports the IT-GRC Policies and Procedures, follows and maintains standard operating procedures and escalates areas of opportunities to improve or streamline processes in alignment with compliance, audit and change management requirements.

The CM specialist is responsible for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including, but limited to, maintaining the structure, currency, accuracy, completeness and reporting capabilities of the CMDB for HICV.  The CBDB will be an integral part of supporting a variety of business functions such as complying with regulatory requirements and audits, supporting systems implementations, updates and upgrades, incident response as well as asset life cycle.  Participates, supports and partners with Internal Audit, IT Security, Access Management, and other enterprise-wide stakeholders to understand, document, plan and deliver CMDB responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

  • The CMDB specialist will administer, manage and carry out all aspects of the CMDB and CMDB processes. Works to the overall objectives of the process of CMDB Management.  Works closely with other process leads and to ensure that Asset specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes.
  • Develops CMDB standards, plans and procedures. Implements the CMDB policy and standards and provides guidance to all team members on how to perform CMDB processes.
  • This role will also ensure data yielded from this process will be of high quality and provide management with the right level of business intelligence and reporting.
  • Contributes to, supports and partners with Internal Audit, Event Management, Incident / Problem / Change / Service Requests and Disaster Recovery specific process managers
  • Supports IT Customers and the Business
  • Utilizes current best practices for CMDB procedures and provides input or feedback for continuous improvement of Asset & Configuration Management best practices.
  • Identifies exceptions or risks to the CMDB process, which may negatively impact the accuracy of asset data
  • Configuration Management (CM) Specialist Tasks:
    • Maintains the accuracy of the CMDB
    • Performs duties related to audit and compliance reporting
    • Duties related to change, release, and build management.
    • Identify areas of opportunity within processes and recommend improvements.
    • Create and maintain documentation for tools used to support configuration management.
    • Provide support to Asset Management team

Job Requirements



QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA preferred and/or 3 years of experience in related field
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in technology, auditing or internal controls, or similar control environment
  • Experience in ServiceNow working with tables, reports and dashboards
  • CISA preferred
  • Knowledge of enterprise computer hardware such as servers and work stations
  • Basic Knowledge of computer network devices and appliances
  • Understanding of Operating and Database Systems, Software and Enterprise wide applications
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel Pivot Tables.  PowerPoint and Access a plus
  • Skilled professional with prior ServiceNow exposure

 



WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS

Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays.  Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours. Must be willing to take occasional after-hours calls to address emergency issues. Will be required to carry a cell phone.
