POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Performs accounting duties that include a variety of tasks related to preparing, maintaining, and reviewing financial reports and records. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares ad hoc analysis and assists in the review of preliminary financial statements. The position will also be responsible for preparing a weekly premium chargeback file, support in vendor research and resolution and back up to the Accountant I for processing of invoices, rebates, and automated bank orders. Assist in the preparation of creating standard operating procedures and provides guidance to internal customers, ensuring team members are adhering to company policies and procedures as applicable. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular accounting function. Applies basic understanding of accounting principles and practices to the organization’s operations, requiring independent thought and judgment. Should be able to monitor and identify problems within the organization’s control structure. Works under minimal supervision and availability outside of normal business hours may be required during certain times of the year. Work is somewhat routine with some difficult situations requiring investigation and more in depth analysis. Should have intermediate to advanced computer skills and be familiar with spreadsheet and word processor software including formatting and formula operations. Candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:  

  • Create and record journal entries with an understanding of the financial statement impact and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Reconcile, research and resolve high-risk general ledger accounts to minimize risk and protect company assets.
  • Audit and prepare premium chargeback file for weekly payroll processing.
  • Provide customer service to external and internal customers. Correspond with vendors to resolve discrepancies and/or inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Build relationships with partners through communication and resolution. Support Accountant I with routine processes as needed.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.  Establishes “Best Practices” and formulates solutions as it relates to creating efficiencies.
  • Special projects, research and analysis ad-hoc reporting as required.

 

 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business area required. 
  • Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of relevant experience.
  • Timeshare / Hospitality industry experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

   • Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level or higher
   • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be detail-orientated and have        the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
   • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral).
   • Ability to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
   • Must be able to establish productive relationships with internal and external          partners.
